Frequently Asked Questions:

How long do tests take?

Each test has 2 parts given over 1-2 days. Each part is between 75 and 90 minutes long.

What is the format of each test?

All the tests will be given online. The only exception is students with an IEP or 504 will follow their appropriate accommodations.

What should students bring to AIR testing? Each student should bring at least two #2 pencils. Students will not be permitted to have cell phones or other wireless devices during testing. Devices will be collected before testing and returned after testing.  The items below are optional but encouraged:

  • #2 Pencil
  • an eraser
  • bottled water

How can I help my child in regards to testing? Make sure your child gets a good night of sleep before testing days. A free breakfast will be provided each day of testing for students that are testing. Let your student know that their best efforts are all we are asking for in regards to testing. Students have plenty of time and do not need to rush through testing. Students should not feel hurried and have time to check over their work once it is finished.

What if my student is sick or absent on a testing day?
There is a limited number of days to make-up missed tests. Any students absent during testing day will be given a date, time and location to take their make-up tests.
